JOB SUMMARY
The position of NDT Level I Processor will train in the disciplines of non-destructive testing. This position will be participating in a proven on-the-job training program and the NAS410 structured certification program. The National Aerospace Standard 410 is an industry standard program for the qualification and certification of non-destructive testing (NDT) personnel.
Under the guidance of Level II inspectors and the company Level III, exercise the privileges of company certifications to prepare and process parts in various stages of repair using nondestructive testing methods. The primary parts processed will be turbine engine components.
This position operates from an all-new state-of-the-art facility with ultra-modern technology and equipment throughout and a climate-controlled environment.
Through our extensive in-house training program, (OJT) (NAS410) the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the necessary skills and certification credentials for the position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Through our extensive in-house training program, the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the necessary skills of the position.
1. Complete the on-the-job training program and NAS410 certification.
2. Learn industry standards and regulations, materials processed, multiple methods of processing, safety policies, proper documentation and demonstrate appropriate communication with team members, supervisors, and trainers.
3. Process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions.
4. Prepare parts before or after inspection in accordance with approved work instructions.
5. Part processing includes fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI).
6. Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standards.
7. Receive guidance or supervision from a certified Level II or Level III in various processing methods when necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Previous experience and/or exposure working in a manufacturing environment or technical position. (Exposure to or familiarity with the principles of non-destructive testing highly desired.)
2. The ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions accurately, including reading and interpretation of shop drawings.
3. Previous experience in the use of overhead cranes.
4. Shown a previous ability to successfully pass skill level tests in other trades or disciplines.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
2. Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
3. Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
4. Previous experience and/or the ability to perform mathematical operations, including working with decimals, fractions, and basic shop math.
5. Previous experience or familiarity with measuring gages such as calipers and micrometers.
6. Motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
7. Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. This position has pre-employment testing requirements that includes a vision test required to meet minimum standards for qualification, including color perception and near vision.
2. Follow general shop safety procedures including the use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection when required.
3. Work in varying positions from time to time. Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift. Move parts (>50 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods. Move less heavy parts (<50 pounds) with or without hoists, slings, or carts.
4. Occasionally use powered and hand-held tools.
