JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer (Tunnel Ventilation) - Nights

LOCATIONS: Pier Walk, SE10 0ES (Mixture of office and site-based activity)

SHIFT PATTERN: Sunday to Thursday; 22.00 – 06.00

SALARY: £42,500 - £45,000 per annum


ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Mechanical Engineer, responsible for the delivery of planned preventative maintenance and supporting reactive fault assignments for tunnel ventilation, public area ventilation and general ventilating systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the delivery of planned preventative maintenance of Mechanical Air-handling and ventilation plant in line with agreed client programmes.  

•       Liaise with the Management Team to support the co-ordination and delivery of planned maintenance activities, ensuring all tasks are completed within the allocated time frame

•       Provide technical knowledge, guidance, and support to the help-desk team for reactive fault assignments

•       Maintain good relationships and communication with the customer / client

•       Ensure that maintenance targets are achieved, reporting asset failures, and undertaking repairs as required

•       Ensure KPI Targets are achieved, working closely with the Management team

•       Maintain adequate van stock levels and procure materials as necessary

•       Supervise site works as necessary to achieve compliance with Method statements and ensure site documentation is completed and available on request

•       Maintain plant logbooks and service records.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

•       Strong communication skills

•       Team player capable of leading and focusing team members to achieve their objectives

•       Knowledge of HVAC Systems and F-GAS Compliance

•       Strong IT skills: Role is heavily dependent on the use of APP based systems

 

DESIRABLE (NON ESSENTIAL)

•       F-GAS CAT 1 Certification

•       SENTINEL ICI

•       Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation with Rail experience

•       Previous experience within a Rail environment

•       Previous experience in working on Smoke control and TVF/PAVF systems is desirable
