New Business Sales Manager

The Manager, Outbound Sales leads a team of New Business Account Executives, and is ultimately responsible for the profitable expansion of revenue through the acquisition of net new customers. This role also requires leading and overseeing important projects & initiatives on behalf of Cision & the Sales teams. Some travel and in-office meetings may be requested.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Achieve 100% of plan. 
  • Maintain accurate sales reporting & forecasting at all times. 
  • Demonstrate the Cision Values & support DEI progress at Cision including actively sponsor/supporting/attending DEI initiatives & events. 
  • Leverage your network (internal & external) to drive visibility into top opportunities and collaborate with internal executives to close business as needed, including deep involvement with top customers & regular outreach/touchpoints with top prospects. 
  • Elevate the performance of the team based on KPI achievement, quality assurance, and standard competencies. ​ Drive accountability for direct reports in achieving KPIs, quota, and overall company objectives as defined by Cision. 
  • Act as the primary ownership of direct team communication & feedback loops, including ensuring clear processes for bubbling up issues & prioritizing business risks. Own communication at large when leading initiatives across broader teams. 
  • Maintain a commitment to learning & personal growth of yourself & your team and prioritize wellness among team initiatives. 
  • Participate in the strategic planning & execution of objectives on behalf of the department and identify opportunities to improve the organization and go-to-market segmentation strategies
  • Ensure proper and timely recognition & celebration to foster a collaborative and positive work environment. 
  • Maintain strong recruitment efforts and talent pipelining including on-campus recruiting, supporting/leading the Sales internship, employee coaching & development resources/competencies/IDP (individual development plans).  
  • Engage daily with peer managers to ensure a strong, collaborative leadership environment, proactively sharing ideas, creative strategies, and updates with other managers, and help triage crisis as needed. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. 
  • At least 5 years of successful leadership driving new business acquisition in the B2B space; Demonstrated ability to earn the respect of and lead others to success is key. 
  • Proven track record of exceeding company quotas. 
  • Highly developed EQ, analytical, organizational, selling, and leadership skills with an exceptional ability to effectively navigate & lead others through change. 
  • Cision-speed & effectiveness are critical to success. 
  • A deep understanding of PR Newswire solutions and/or the PR space are required.
