Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
We are seeking to hire a Senior Network Engineer who will be based at our Point Celeste, LA LNG facility to maintain functional and secure networks. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a thorough knowledge of network administration and network architectures, and a passion for securing networks in order to protect our systems and data.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Network team, architects and other departments on design and deployment of functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Configure and install network firewalls, switches, WAP’s and other network devices
- Monitor and support network performance and integrity
- Resolve network issues by troubleshooting cloud and local network infrastructure
- Mentor team members on technical issues within the network architecture
- Create, oversee and test standard operating procedures related to day-to-day work, projects, and disaster recovery.
- Communicate with users when needed
- Maintain complete technical documentation including drawings
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, computer science, or network management systems
- 5 or more years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer and a team-oriented individual
- Professional certification preferred (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
- Solid background in network administration, security and architectures
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills using your experience, and network diagnostic tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion to ensure networks are operating at peak performance levels, and fully documented. All while using change management systems to track all approved network changes while managing a secure plant network.
