We are seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to work on the Network team for roughly an 8+ month contract!. This team is responsible for collaborating with other team members to maintain the operational integrity of the enterprise network. The responsibilities include network design, standard maintenance, troubleshooting, addressing new requests, and deployment of standardized systems & configurations. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills when working with other Infrastructure Services teams and the business, including the ability to present technical solutions to non-technical management. This role is onsite based in Houston, Tx.
A Day in the Life
Oversee the implementation of complex networks and assume the technical lead for multiple concurrent network projects.
Demonstrate specialized expertise in network design and data center operations.
Provide strategic and tactical direction for advanced network connectivity
Serve as an escalation point and provide technical expertise and diagnosis in resolving complex network problems
Extensive experience and deep knowledge of LAN, Wireless, and SD-WAN networks
Extensive experience and deep understanding of data center networking in a virtualized environment using Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, and VMWare
Lead, train, and mentor other Network Engineers
Ensure network stability and performance through operational excellence and proactive maintenance
Troubleshoot network problems; schedule upgrades; perform network analysis, root cause analysis, and optimization
Ensure uptime and monitoring of all corporate network infrastructure and circuits
Manage network upgrades, expansions, and new implementation projects
Respond to tickets promptly and resolve the issue
Deploy standardized systems and configurations as the business requirements evolve
Collaborate on and document standard operating procedures for network support
Participate in on-call rotation with other operations team members
What You Bring:
8+ Years of relevant Network Engineering skills
Network management and monitoring tools (i.e., Riverbed)
Cisco Nexus,Catalyst switches, ISR, ASR routers, and Cradlepoint LTE Routers
Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers , Wireless Access Points, and ISE
Routing – BGP, OSPF, HSRP, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM
Switching – VLANs, rapid-PVST+, VPC
IPSec, DMVPN, SD-WAN, and SD-Access technologies
