In this role, the individual will be primarily responsible for managing and configuring the Quality Assurance (QA) Lab, ensuring it operates at peak efficiency to support testing activities.

They will oversee the maintenance, updating, and troubleshooting of lab equipment, software, and systems, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to schedule and prioritize testing.

Additionally, the role involves conducting software and network testing to identify defects, assess performance, and ensure reliability and security. The individual will collaborate with development teams to validate fixes and enhance software quality, while also documenting test results and lab procedures to support continuous improvement efforts within the QA environment.

Requirements

  • Manage and configure the Quality Assurance (QA) Lab to ensure optimal functionality and readiness for testing activities.
  • Maintain, update, and troubleshoot lab equipment, software, and systems to support testing needs.
  • Develop and implement processes for lab configuration, resource allocation, and test environment management.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to schedule and prioritize testing activities within the lab.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices for lab management and testing procedures.
  • Conduct software testing, including functional, regression, and performance testing, to identify and document defects and areas for improvement.
  • Perform network testing to assess the reliability, security, and performance of network systems and configurations.
  • Collaborate with development teams to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and provide feedback on software quality.
  • Support the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools, contributing to a more efficient and effective QA environment.
  • Document test results, configurations, and procedures, and provide regular reports to management on lab and testing activities.
  • Test Case Development: Write, review, and execute test cases based on product or feature requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with product managers, developers, and senior QA engineers to understand product requirements and design test plans accordingly.
  • Manual Testing: Perform manual testing on various platforms (web, mobile, etc.) to identify bugs, usability issues, and ensure overall product quality.
  • Defect Tracking: Report, track, and validate defects in the defect tracking system, ensuring they are resolved before the product release.
  • Regression Testing: Execute regression tests to ensure that recent changes have not adversely affected existing functionality.
  • Test Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of test cases, test results, and defects.
  • Networking Tests: Conduct basic networking-related tests, such as checking connectivity, IP configurations, and network performance, as part of the QA process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in team meetings to discuss testing strategies, share knowledge, and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues, and provide feedback on product design and implementation from a QA and networking perspective.
  • Provide technical know-how, documentation and training to test and other business functions

Qualifications & Skills

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • CCNA Certified
  • Experience in large scale networks such as DHCP, RADIUS, TCP and UDP.
  • Knowledge of monitoring systems such as NAGIOS, Solar Winds, Zabbix, PRTG, SNMP
  • Knowledge of Linux / Networking / security technologies
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Significant experience in Quality Assurance testing or similar role.
  • Working Knowledge of test management SW (e.g. Testrail or similar)
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent Communications skills
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
  • Familiarity with with various object oriented coding languages
  • Experience working with test methodologies
  • Understanding of Wireless Technologies, Controllers, Access Points, Ruckus, Cisco, Meraki,
  • Aruba.
