We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Architect to join our team. As a Network Architect at LightEdge, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing LightEdge’s backbone infrastructure strategy spanning multiple cities and datacenters coast to coast. Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies for enterprise-wide networking, providing technical direction and engineering solutions
  • Take a leadership role in developing and executing roadmaps for the architecture, engineering, and operations of the backbone infrastructure and internet networking at LightEdge
  • Actively participate in lab testing procedures to ensure performance expectations are met before and after the implementation of new products, platforms, and services
  • Collaborate with product development teams, principal technologists, and third-party service providers to conceptualize, assess, pilot, engineer, and deploy creative and efficient solutions
  • Effectively communicate the feasibility of requested deliverables from the sales and product teams, aligning with timelines for internal business and project stakeholders
  • Execute the installation and qualification of components into production, adhering to the defined policies and procedures of LightEdge
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with established standards for HIPAA, PCI, and other industry auditable security regulated IT environments
  • Cultivate internal and external relationships at LightEdge to promote collaboration and partnerships, enhancing strategies, processes, and final product delivery
  • Mentor team members in Architecture and Network Operations, offering guidance on architectural and engineering best practices as well as ongoing platform lifecycle management
  • Participate in IT Risk Management initiatives, aligning with industry and corporate audit and compliance strategies
  • Conduct network troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve common network problems
  • Upgrade network hardware and software components as necessary to maintain optimal performance
  • Adhere to a minimum 40-hour workweek
  • Undertake other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience working with network architectural design and implementation
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • op-Level Industry-recognized certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), or (JNCDP / JNCIE)
  • Solid understanding of the following protocols and technologies:  Ethernet, L2/L3 fabrics, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, MSTP, PVST+, CWDM/DWDM, QoS, IPSec VPNs, MPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, Segment Routing, EVPN
  • Advanced familiarity with Cisco IOS, ACI, IOS-XR and NX-OS, VMware NSX-V and NSX-T networking; preference given to prior experience in multi-tenant/service provider networks
  • Strong familiarity with Optical Transport Networking, DWDM
  • Direct experience with VXLAN / EVPN a plus
  • Experience working with enterprise grade DDoS Mitigation solutions
  • Network monitoring tracing – (SNMP; packet analysis software, Netflow, Wireshark, Extrahop)
  • 5+ years of network/security implementation experience
  • Resourceful, with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities
  • Experience with SEIM solutions
