A Neighborhood Program Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services/Neighborhood Development & Revitalization Division.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience in city/ government / community type organizing, urban planning, development, social or human services, or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Two years in program/project management
  • Experience and knowledge in capital improvement delivery, community development, community engagement and planning
  • Experience with municipal procurement and contract administration to effectively manage staff and programs
  • Marketing and/or communication

The Neighborhood Program Coordinator job responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Neighborhood Improvement Strategy Program through the following activities:
    • Implementing and managing capital projects using local, state, and federal funding
    • Analyzing grants, project financial and statistical data
    • Executing contracts with internal and external partners
    • Communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
    • Organizing work projects within a team environment and maintaining effective working relationships
    • Effectively managing time to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meeting multiple deadlines
    • Preparing clear and concise reports and other written documents including Mayor and Council communications (M&Cs)

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

Physical Demand

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
