Requirement: Technician Services for Vehicle Maintenance in Maintenance and Support Company

Location: Bydgoszcz, PL

Occasional business travel may be required. Travel expenses to be reimbursed to the individual directly (in addition to the hourly rate) under NATO rules.

Period of Performance: 2025 BASE - from 01/01/2025 to 31/12/2025 – maximum 2000 working hours with the possibility to exercise following option:

2026 Option - from 01/01/2026 to 31/12/2026 – maximum 2000 working hours

Required Security Clearance: NATO SECRET

1. Introduction

This Statement of Work (SOW) describes the requirement for a Contractor in the NATO CIS Group 3 NATO Signal Battalion Headquarters, Maintenance and Support Company, CISSE Section, providing the services of the vehicle technician. The Contractor is expected to operate and to maintain all kind of vehicles (light passenger cars to heavy trucks).

2. Scope of Services

  • Executes the maintenance of all 3 NSB vehicles (commercial and tactical).
  • Supervises the disassembly, repair, re-assembly, tests, adjustments and inspections associated with direct support maintenance of military vehicles and towed trailers.
  • Supervises and uses hand and power tools to accomplish mechanical/electrical repairs.
  • Ensures all vehicles are prepared for immediate deployment (linked to the unit high readiness status).
  • Maintains and operates a tool room in a static or deployed environment.
  • Records all maintenance actions in vehicle documentation and dedicated software.
  • Maintains a prescribe load list (PLL).
  • Co-ordinate the logistic requirements for fluids and spare parts consumption/ordering (related to the annual maintenance plan and in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations).
  • Provides driver's training to newly assigned personnel.
  • Provides 1st level maintenance training to newly qualified drivers.
  • Works at one of a number of locations - ready for business travels throughout Europe.
  • May be assigned with equipment (from small electronic devices and tools to vehicles with non-communication equipment).
  • Takes care of equipment and keep it in good working order.
  • Supports the units on the move or at deployed locations - via phone, emails or in person.
  • Operates and maintains power generators (from 2KW to 60KW) and other ancillary equipment.
  • Operates additional equipment and performs other duties if this is necessary to support the troops - it may involve setting up tents, office modules, setting up security perimeters, doing site surveys and other mission essential tasks given to the company (MS COY) and Motor Mobile Maintenance Team.
  • This post will be required to deploy and take part in all technical events, units' evaluations, exercises (also NRF exercises) and operations but will not be assigned to NRF teams or NRF shifts.
  • In the provision of the required services the contractor will be requested to drive the vehicle, more than 3,5 tones, with passengers, load for long distances

3. Background, Work Site Information and Environment, Travel

NCISG 3NSB MSCOY is located in Bydgoszcz, Poland and co-located with Polish Military Units in a typical Secure Facility. The work requires business travels to remote locations, mostly European countries and Turkey and will be performed in the workshop environment, outdoors and in the antennas' areas. Temperatures in winter might drop below O Celsius degree.

The services may be required to be performed in other NATO military and or exercise sites.

Requirements

  • The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance

4. Language

  • English: Listening, speaking, reading and writing shall be at a NATO level of English 2222

The work both oral and written in the post and in the Headquarter as a whole is conducted mainly in English.

5. Knowledge & Qualifications

  • The second-level wheeled vehicle maintenance of deployed NATO strategic communications and information systems (CIS).

6. Essential Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience in various vehicles maintenance (from light passenger cars to heavy trucks).
  • Vehicles mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Full C and E (Heavy Goods with Towed Heavy Trailer) driving license.

7. Education

  • Secondary education and basic training for specific tasks related skills, with 2 years' experience.

8. Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiar with Power Generator operation and maintenance
  • Experience with office modules setup and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of European military and civilian organizations.
  • Low voltage certification.
  • Experience in NATO working environment or other international organizations.
  • Prior experience in setting up and operating a direct support motor pool facility in a field environment

9. Quality Assurance

A formal monthly meeting between the individual and the supervisor/alternative will be scheduled in order to evaluate performance
