Requirement: Technician Services for Climate Control – Air Conditioning in Maintenance and Support Company
Location: Bydgoszcz, PL
Period of Performance: 2025 BASE - from 01/01/2025 to 31/12/2025 – maximum 2000 working hours with the possibility to exercise following option:
2026 Option - from 01/01/2026 to 31/12/2026 – maximum 1000 working hours

1. Introduction
This Statement of Work (SOW) describes the requirement for a Contractor in the NATO CIS Group 3 NATO Signal Battalion Headquarters, Maintenance and Support Coy, CIS SE Platoon, Mobile Motor Maintenance Team as a Climate Control -Air Conditioning technician.
2. Scope of Services
- Executes the level 2 maintenance of all provided air conditioning equipment organic to NSB.
- Disassembles, repairs, reassembles, tests, adjusts, and inspects major items, assemblies, subassemblies and components of air conditioners
- Manages, maintains, and repairs air conditioning. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing faults, resolving issues, installing and configuring AIR-CO equipment, requesting spares.
- Co-ordinates down-time, schedules and performs preventive maintenance on all tactical air conditioners.
- Manages and supervises the accountability and usage of hand and power tools and test equipment used to accomplish mechanical repairs.
- Ensures air conditioners are prepared for immediate deployment (linked to the unit's high readiness).
- Maintains historical maintenance records on all assigned air conditioners.
- Maintains a bench stock of spare parts; record all resources consumed and initiates supply-related documents to replenish bench stock.
- Maintains and operates a tool room in a fixed and deployed environment, maintenance records on air conditioners, a prescribe load list (PLL) in a fixed and deployed environment.
- Provides air conditioner's training to newly assigned personnel.
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of deployable Office Modules (OM).
- Conducts OM equipment care inspections.
- Works at one of a number of locations - ready for business travels.
- May be assigned with equipment (from small electronic devices and tools to vehicles with non-communication equipment).
- May have to perform level 1 maintenance on motor vehicle (passenger cars or light trucks).
- Takes care of equipment and keep it in good working order.
- Supports the units at deployed locations - via phone, emails or in person.
- Operates power generators (from 2KW to 60KW) and other ancillary equipment.
- Operates additional equipment and performs other duties, if necessary, to support the troops; it may involve setting up tents, security perimeters with concertina, attending site surveys and other mission essential tasks given to the Unit and/or Motor Mobile Maintenance Team.
- This post will be required to deploy and take part in all technical events, units' evaluations, exercises (also NRF exercises) and operations but will not be assigned to NRF teams and NRF shifts.
- In the provision of the required services the contractor will be requested to drive the vehicle, more than 3,5 tones, with passengers, load for short distances.
3. Background, Work Site Information and Environment, Travel
NCISG 3NSB MSCOY is located in Bydgoszcz, Poland and co-located with Polish Military Units in a typical Secure Facility. The work requires business travels to remote locations, mostly European countries and Turkey and will be performed in the workshop environment, outdoors and in the antennas' areas. Temperatures in winter might drop below O Celsius degree.
The services may be required to be performed in other NATO military and or exercise sites.
Occasional business travel may be required. Travel expenses to be reimbursed to the individual directly (in addition to the hourly rate) under NATO rules.
Requirements
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
4. Language
- English: Listening, speaking, reading and writing shall be at a NATO level of English 3322
The work both oral and written in the post and in the Headquarter as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
5. Knowledge & Qualifications
5.1. Essential Qualifications
- 2 years' experience in the disassembly, repair, re-assembly, testing, adjusting, and inspections associated with direct support maintenance of military tactical air conditioners.
- Experience in installing commercial, tactical and specific "Biological and Chemical" filters for sensitive communications-electronic equipment (such as CIS shelters or office modules).
- Post requires a qualified air conditioner specialist for all tactical air conditioners of the Deployable CIS Organization, able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical malfunctions on Air-Co.
- Includes all activities that provide Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC specialist).
- The incumbent must possess the technical knowledge, skills, experience and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the post.
5.2. Education
- Secondary education and basic training for specific tasks related skills, with 2 years' experience.
5.3. Desirable Qualifications
- Familiar with Power Generator operation.
- Familiar with Office Modules setup, deployment and maintenance.
- Full C and E driving license.
- Experience in NATO working environment or other international civilian or military organizations
6. Quality Assurance
A formal monthly meeting between the individual and the supervisor/alternative will be scheduled in order to evaluate performance
