National Account Manager - Spirits

London, United Kingdom
Full-Time

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Partner Manager / National Account Manager to drive distribution and growth of the Maverick Drinks brand portfolio across both the Grocery and luxury and independent retail channels. You'll contribute significantly to our business success, and act as a consultant to the trade, bringing customers on the craft spirits journey with us.

Our philosophy is simple. We make and select liquids that are the best they can possibly be, and package them in a way that’s awesome. We don’t compromise, we don’t cut corners and we don’t strive to fill niches or build back from arbitrarily-defined price-points. We build the very best liquids that we can, day-in, day-out - and our people are the key to achieving this.

You'll join us and create the national retail (Grocery and Luxury/High end independent retail) strategy in line with the Maverick strategic objectives and develop joint business plans in order to deliver against the budgeted growth targets for your channel, managing the full commercial picture from accurate forecasting to A&P investment.

Using your expertise of the craft spirits category and consumer, you'll share category trends and insights to facilitate decision making and product ranging, leading to a greater presence for our brands, driving distribution, visibility and rate of sale of the Maverick Drinks core range.

Utilising the wider internal team (including our world class portfolio brand ambassadors), you will deliver liquid, brand and category training to embed our brands and drive value for the customer. Working closely with our trade to identify future opportunities within your account base, you will have an opportunity to create compelling craft category propositions. You'll also be the face of Maverick at channel and customer trade shows / network events - being a voice of influence across your customer base to create ongoing opportunities for the business.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of directly managing one or more of the “Big 4” grocers and key Luxury Independent retailers, with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of their individual performance
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience of managing, planning and marketing with retailers
  • Proven experience of delivering exceptional NPD launches within the spirits category
  • Good knowledge of the UK spirits business with an off trade focus
  • Strong product knowledge spanning all categories of spirits, preferably along with a working knowledge of the craft spirits category
  • Ability to deliver mutual value at every level of the customer hierarchy, specifically with senior stakeholders
  • Strong commercial acumen and numeracy skills with the ability to identify value growth in all areas of the customer
  • Strong negotiation skills, P&L management skills - ideally along with skills in financial analysis and category development
  • This role is field-based and will require nationwide travel; a full UK driving licence is therefore require

Desirable

  • Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Qualification - Higher Level
  • Familiarity with the Google Suite of apps.

How you’ll align to our Values

  • A crazy passion for customer partnerships and innovation, with superb attention to detail, with an analytical mindset
  • ‘Strive for Greatness.’ A self-starter with exceptional organisation and project management skills. Creative and dynamic, with a passion for craft spirits
  • ‘Humanism for the win!’ A team player steeped in integrity, who can also work autonomously and independently to drive our reputation, distribution and success in these channels.
  • ‘Live in Reality’ Be energised by working in a fast-paced and agile environment, making things happen and taking accountability for the success of your channels.

Benefits

We’re all about boundless curiosity, so you’ll discover loads of opportunities to spark your creative flair and work along-side unreal talent who all have the same job description, to ‘Make Atom Successful.’ Trust is at the epicentre of all that we can do, so you’ll work in a transparent and honest environment where we have each other’s backs, and be free of aging corporate policies and rules.

Life here’s about so much more than pay and benefits - you might get a slightly higher salary if you cram onto an expensive, crowded commuter train into the city, but you’ll struggle to find a company with the flex, agility and unique-ness that we have. In short, we’ve got you covered financially but if money is your main driver, we’re not for you.

We hate waste in all of it’s forms and time is no different, so we’re focused on productivity and output rather than when or where you work, or what you wear into the office - you can come in fancy dress for all we care! This means that although we can’t promise anything, flexible working options are built into our DNA.

Along with the stuff you get for turning up to work each day (think private healthcare scheme, unlimited annual leave, pension, cycle-2-work, eye care, enhanced maternity & paternity leave, free food, drinks and parking at the office), you’ll also get a healthy staff discount on our world-class range (just in case that makes a difference).

We don’t sit still, and there’s a lot more to come... Apply now if you want to join us.
