Role

We’re looking for an experienced Music Supervisor to join us in our India office, as part of the Singapore hub for the client’s marcom activities across 6 markets in ISEA.

Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, the Music Supervisor will understand and love everything music. This person will have excellent organisational skills and can find their way around an intricate music library. Their insight and knowledge of the music world will help define the concept of the ad, emphasise storylines, emotion, and cultural relevance through their musical selections.

Responsibilities:

  • This person must be able to seek out quality music that reflects the Apple brand. They contribute to the creative process by collaborating with creatives, producers and composers to come up with iconic, creative music ideas and sound design.
  • This person must have a hunger to search out new artists across various markets - it is as important to have knowledge of artists and bands in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia etc, as it is for India.
  • This person will be responsible for sharing a variety of music with the wider creative team and will be in charge of bringing in journalists, DJs, bands, while searching all over the world for new and cool stuff to inspire us.
  • Responsible for proposing music options for broadcast and interactive advertising.
  • Expand and maintain the diversity of music presented to the creative team and the client.
  • Be confident in project management and co-ordinating tasks across the department.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with artists, label executives and producers.
  • Cultivate global music industry contacts; ensure a wide range of music genres.
  • Liaison between agency and musician/composer.
  • Stay on top of new music trends, locally and internationally.
  • Create internal music newsletter/blog to expose the MAL team to music that is up and coming.
  • Maintain an up-to-date, searchable music library database.
  • Organise live performances onsite to inspire the MAL team.

Who will thrive in this role?

  • Someone with extensive experience in music supervision or A&R.
  • Resourceful in delivering quality music; able to communicate ideas and concepts through music.
  • Experienced in film/TV/music production & production company experience - a plus.
  • Knowledge and ability of music editing software, ideally Logic to cut and craft music edits.
  • Able to work on several projects at once and maintain a calm, productive demeanour.
  • Wide Range of Contacts in India across management, record companies and publishers etc.
  • Diplomatic and resourceful; able to manage complex relationships and professional connections.
  • Deep understanding of Apple brand and history.
