This Multilingual Learner/Math Curriculum Writer position will be responsible for enhancing our existing and new math curriculum with enhanced Multilingual Learner (Multilingual Learner) supports. This role will be focused on California state standards and state requirements. The candidate will be responsible for writing teacher-facing lesson plans and designing student-facing digital materials that are also suitable for print.

We’re looking for someone who has a background in teaching elementary, middle, or high school math, who has written or developed a math curriculum, and has experience developing and aligning ML supports embedded in the curriculum materials. 

This is a short term contract position. 

You will...

  • Use your ML & math experience to iterate and drive innovation within our CA Math curriculum. 
  • Write high-quality, teacher supports and student support content for kindergarten through Algebra 2 given a predefined scope and sequence with a focus on ML supports. 
  • Work with project managers to ensure that submitted work meets specified requirements
  • Respond to constructive feedback and make any necessary edits to submitted work
  • Provide daily updates on assigned tasks
  • Other assigned tasks as needed to meet project deadlines and deliverables

What we're looking for...

  • Experience authoring and enhancing math curriculum with a focus on ML supports. 
  • Experience writing K-12 math lessons, tasks, teacher notes, and other supporting or supplemental materials.
  • Familiar with California Standards and mathematics requirements preferred 
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in mathematics and/or ML education.
  • Availability to commit 40 hours per week to this project.
  • High school level writers must have experience and knowledge of Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and some statistics.
  • Familiarity with Common Core Math standards and experience working with state specific standards.
  • Experience teaching the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum is a plus!
  • Experience in using technology to enhance mathematics and/or ML instruction.
  • Keen attention to detail; welcomes feedback and constructive criticism on writing.

Hourly rate or Salary is dependent on geography, past experience, seniority, and demonstrated role related ability during the interview process.
