We’re now recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Ranskill site. This is a great opportunity to join the Marshalls family and develop your skills whilst undertaking engineering maintenance tasks and ensuring a proactive approach to prevent equipment failure.

What's the mission?
Working as part of our highly skilled Operations team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

You’ll work on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems, and will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site. You will contribute to the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets.

Working 42 hours per week, the role will cover a two-shift rotation (6 am-2 pm and 2 pm-10 pm). This includes one Saturday every 4 weeks.


What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Good mechanical and electrical working knowledge and experience
  • Time served/apprentice trained in a similar position, with recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualifications
  • A thorough understanding of the IEE 18th edition
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Practical hands-on approach
  • Have significant experience, understanding, and knowledge of the maintenance of a variety of plant
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with operatives, Team leaders from both maintenance and production
