Summary/Overview:

KBRA (Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC) is seeking to bolster our Model Risk Management efforts in the New York office. 

KBRA relies on credit rating methodologies, models, and analytical tools for its rating process. KBRA’s Credit Policy department is seeking to reinforce its governance and oversight to mitigate these risks, particularly with respect to models and analytical tools.  The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that strives to meet the financial modeling needs of a growing organization and will have various methodology- and model-related responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with model developers and rating teams to provide oversight of and guidance on:
    • Validation of proposed models;
    • Controls around model usage and restrictions/limitations;
    • Ongoing model performance and testing; and
    • Adherence to model policy requirements and methodologies.
  • Interface with regulators and/or stakeholders to respond to any methodology- or model-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate Model Risk Management meetings; prepare meeting agenda; collect/organize meeting materials and track action items.
  • Maintain model and analytical tool inventory.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a subject with quantitative elements. An MBA or MS is highly desired.
  • A minimum of seven (7) or more years of relevant model risk management or financial audit experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in data science, modeling, or related field is helpful.
  • Significant experience using, developing, and validating models.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are essential.
  • Ability to interface with other functional areas within the firm and/or external parties on model-related issues.
  • Strong proficiency with R and/or Python and the use of a scripted query language is preferred.

Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $175,000 to $225,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
