We are looking for a mobile software engineer interested in crafting outstanding User Interfaces to join the team responsible for Allegro's Design System. Our team consists of experienced designers and engineers and aims to create user interfaces that provide visual consistency between platforms and different parts of the website. We cooperate with dozens of teams composed of designers, researchers, engineers, and testers with various competencies, ensuring the highest developer experience.
We create native interfaces for all platforms on which Allegro operates (Android, iOS, Web). We are working on the latest technologies (Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI, React) and are responsible for interface components from the design stage to their implementation in production. Your work will be visible in the most popular shopping app in Poland!
Our mobile engineers are part of the mobile community at Allegro, which consists of over 100 developers. Within our community, we actively share knowledge during our daily work in code review, but also at dedicated company events. Twice a year we organize mobile hackathons and our own mobile conferences. It is not only a dedicated time for sharing technical knowledge, but also for integration and listening to inspiring guests from outside the company.
Working as a Mobile Software Engineer in our team, you will:
- Be a part of the team working on the design system, i.e., a set of principles, rules, and tools from which Allegro's UI is created and developed
- Work on developing mobile applications (iOS) with particular emphasis on UI
- Take care to provide a positive developer experience for other Allegro's engineers
- Create, document, and maintain native UI components that are used by all mobile engineers at Allegro
- Train engineers in design systems and good platform practices
- Impact the final vision and direction of application development
The offer is addressed to people who:
- Know the iOS system very well, both from the developer and user perspective
- The area of their interest is mainly focused on issues related to the development of the user interface (they can apply the Apple HIG principles in practice)
- Are proficient in using frameworks for building UIKit and SwiftUI application interfaces
- Understand the app development process, from design to releasing it to the App Store
- Care about the quality and cleanliness of the code (knowledge of the Clean Architecture solutions is welcome)
- Have an open approach, curiosity, and willingness to ask questions (our work goes beyond writing code — consultations, education, and looking for alternative solutions are part of our daily routine)
- Want to be proud of the code they create. They willingly accept comments and share knowledge during code reviews
- Can look for effective solutions to user requirements
- Want to develop and update their knowledge constantly
What we offer:
- A hybrid work model that you will agree on with your leader and the team. We have well-located offices (with fully equipped kitchens and bicycle parking facilities) and excellent working tools (height-adjustable desks, interactive conference rooms)
- Annual bonus of up to 10% of the annual salary gross (depending on your annual assessment and the company's results)
- A wide selection of fringe benefits in a cafeteria plan – you choose what you like (e.g., medical, sports or lunch packages, insurance, purchase vouchers)
- English classes that we pay for related to the specific nature of your job
- Laptop with M1 processor, 32GB RAM, SSD - MacBook Pro 16'' or 14'', plus two external monitors and all other gadgets that you should need
- Working in a team you can always count on — we have on board top-class specialists and experts in their areas of expertise
- A high degree of autonomy in terms of organizing your team’s work; we encourage you to develop continuously and try out new things
- Hackathons, internal mobile conference - DevDay, team tourism (possibility to work in another team for a while), training budget, and an internal educational platform, MindUp (including training courses on organizational work, means of communications, and various technologies and subject-matter issues)
