MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer)

OUR CLIENT- A South Korean-based crypto trading company, offering advanced trading services through a secure platform. Specializing in Over-The-Counter (OTC) services, the company is expanding its operations across Europe, starting with Lithuania. Focused on providing innovative and efficient solutions for both retail and institutional traders, the company aims to strengthen its global presence and meet the growing demand for seamless crypto trading.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with EU AML Policy and Lithuanian regulatory requirements;
  • Identifying, assessing and monitoring money laundering, terrorist financing and other applicable financial crimes risks ensuring that the program is comprehensive and proportionate to the nature, scale and complexity of EU’s businesses operating;
  • Maintaining an understanding of current and proposed financial crimes laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance in Lithuania;
  • Maintaining an awareness of emerging financial crimes trends/risk across the company and region and develop strategies to apply lessons learned that proactively address this risk;
  • Receiving, reviewing, monitoring, and submitting Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the Financial Crime Investigation Service and liaise with regulatory bodies as applicable;
  • Preparing planning and reporting documents regarding the Lithuanian AML/CFT Program for senior management;
  • Identifying and assessing training needs, and establishing, developing, delivering, and maintaining the local AML training program as appropriate;
  • Participating in checking of completeness of sanctions watchlists;
  • Monitoring regulatory change, ensuring active identification, response and/or escalation of money laundering, terrorist financing and other applicable financial crimes-related topics, as appropriate;
  • Preparing and submitting information requested regulators periodically or ad-hoc base.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education;
  • Desired 5+ years of AML/CFT related experience in a virtual asset service provider, a financial institution or combined with experience in a related government/regulatory body;
  • BS/BA degree or higher;
  • Knowledge and strong understanding of Lithuanian AML/CFT regime and international/industry practices, to include European Union Directives on Money Laundering, OFAC, and global sanctions;
  • Experience in managing an AML/CFT program;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills, lateral thinking and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Knowledge of transaction monitoring systems utilized in AML/Financial Crimes investigative programs considered a plus;
  • Experience in non-face-to-face KYC by a KYC-specialized third-party system considered a plus;
  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or other similar designation considered a plus.;
  • The ability to work part-time (40 hours per month).
