For one of our clients, we are looking for an ML Manager, Software Engineering (Decisions and Pricing Engineering EU), remotely from Spain.

In this role, you will lead a team of skilled Machine Learning Engineers, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in underwriting models and enhance credit assessment capabilities. You’ll be responsible for setting the strategic priorities and roadmaps for machine learning projects, managing resource allocation, and fostering a high-performing team. The successful candidate will focus on developing scalable machine learning models that align with both business goals and customer needs, while ensuring high-quality production-ready solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers to develop, deploy, and maintain high-quality machine learning models at scale.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to define and execute product roadmaps and technical solutions.
  • Drive prioritization, resource allocation, and trade-off discussions with stakeholders, ensuring efficient planning and execution.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing, diverse team by recruiting, coaching, and providing regular feedback.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align business and technical requirements, and drive the successful execution of machine learning initiatives.
  • Participate in quarterly planning, ensuring alignment across teams and removing obstacles to progress.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Expertise in developing machine learning models and systems at scale, with a strong understanding of techniques like Generalized Linear Models, Gradient Boosting, Deep Learning, and Probabilistic Calibration.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed systems like Spark or Ray.
  • Proven track record of building and leading diverse teams, with experience in mentoring and developing engineering talent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Experience in the Fintech or Retail industries is a plus.
