We are seeking a Missions Coordinator to join our team committed to delivering outstanding humanitarian aid and mission experiences. As a Missions Coordinator, you will play an important role in planning, coordinating and leading mission projects and experiences that support Buckner strategic goals to serve people’s basic human needs. What you'll do:
- Develop, organize, coordinate and implement mission projects and volunteer experiences primarily in the U.S. and, internationally as needed.
- Serve as liaison between mission/volunteer groups and Buckner program staff.
- Mobilize churches and equip groups/volunteers to be successful by leading trainings and conducting project orientations.
- Create project/ mission travel budgets and arrange travel as needed. (typically 3-5 trips annually. Varies year-to-year).
- Operate volunteer management system and volunteer screening process.
- Deploy project management (PM) techniques and operate the PM system to track each phase of a mission experience.
- Travel as needed to lead mission experiences to U.S. and international locations.
- Partner with internal Buckner teams to cultivate relationships with churches, donors and volunteers.
- Train, monitor, and evaluate volunteer leaders.
- Equip leaders to assist with mission experiences.
What you’ll bring:

High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 3-years prior related work experience
- Experience in diverse and international settings.
- Prior related international mission trip experience preferred. Latin American experience preferred.
- Proficient ability to speak, read and write English. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of social development and social change theory and practice.
- Abilities to conduct program development & outcomes measurement.
- Ability to travel to various geographic locations and some overnight stays.
- Ability to secure and maintain current documentation necessary to travel internationally.
- Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable
- Ability to work nights and weekends to fulfill business needs.
- Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
- Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
