The Opportunity
Athletics & Recreation are recruiting for casual hourly Minor Official Leads to manage designated projects within Athletics and Recreation. The focus for this position will be to provide leadership for SAIT Trojans athletic events. Minor Officials Leads will be responsible for event engagement, enhancement, and promotion.
The Role
- Content Provider, Leader of Portfolio/Component
- Spectator Engagement, Ticket/Admissions, Ambiance (music, lights, video)
- Home Game Table (statistics, scoresheets, game film, website interface)
- Sport Broadcasting and Production Logistics
- Sport Media Management and Brand Expansion/Protection
- Digital Engagements, Media Enhancements and Video Promotion
- Trojans Broadcasting Crew
- Back of House - Environmental Preparedness and Transition
- Assist with setup and takedown of facilities
- Promotions and Social Media Content (Storytellers, Tweeters, Posters)
- Trojans Digital Channels and Game Stories
- Home Game Scripts & other innovative opportunities students may wish to bring forward including advanced digital content,
- CCAA pre participation training coordination
- ACAC pre participation certification coordination
- SAIT pre participation media coordination
- Front of House - Technical Reporting, Assessment and Adaptation
- Spectator Relations and Fan Engagement
- Sport Scorekeeping, Time keeper, Ticket Office duties (ticket taker), Goal/Line judge, Individual Statistics, 3-Ball, and Game Film exchange
- Mascot management and Sport Specific Event Support
- Home Game video, photography & graphics
- In house DJ, Announcing and Colour commentating
- Esports Shoutcasting and Video analysis
- Special Functions & other opportunities students wish to bring forward
Qualifications & Experience
- Preferred
- Students/Alumni of the ICT program
- Digital Media
- Communications
- Production
- Knowledge of sport rules or officiating and/or scorekeeping experience
- Conflict resolution experience
- Current SAIT Students are preferred
- Minimum Required
- Completion of the grade 12 or an equivalent combination.
- Previous work with Trojans and/or Athletics & Recreation
- Must be able to travel within the City of Calgary.
- Must be available evenings and weekends.
