Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Mine Engineer
Rotation schedule will 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site
Reporting to the Principal Mine Engineer

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Complete assigned work in a professional manner including necessary measurements, calculations, analysis, interpretation, reporting and recommendations
- Provide technical support and coordination for short-term and long-term projects between departments, vendors, and contractors
- Improve mine processes and procedures by evaluating new technology and recommending implementation where cost effective
- Support both short- and long-term planning efforts as required
- Liaise with other engineers and geologists to get assistance in the development of plans and designs
- Prepare reports on productivity analysis, mine design, and mine planning
- Communicate effectively with operating and technical groups to ensure optimum utilization of resources
- Develop an understanding of the company’s organization and work flow to develop a strong network within
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- One (1) to five (5) years mining industry experience
- Mine planning experience in an open pit environment is an asset
- Project work exposure is an asset
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and Windows environment with advanced abilities in MS Excel
- Working knowledge of mine planning software (e.g. Minesight or similar) is an asset
- Strong interpersonal communication (written and verbal) skills
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Capable of working with all levels of the organization and in a team environment
