We expect the Database Administrator to:
- Manage, monitor, and optimise Oracle and Postgres database systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and security,
- Design and implement Oracle and Postgres database structures based on business requirements,
- Identify and resolve performance issues, optimise queries, and proactively monitor database performance,
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery capabilities,
- Implement and maintain database security measures to safeguard sensitive data,
- Investigate and resolve database-related issues, provide technical support to users, and collaborate with developers and other IT staff,
- Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures,
- Plan and execute database upgrades and apply patches to ensure the latest features, security enhancements, and bug fixes.
Must-have skills:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role,
- Installation and administration of Oracle Database 19c and Postgres 13 and forward,
- High availability environments (Failover or RAC),
- Disaster Recovery Environments (Data Guard),
- Backup and restore using RMAN,
- Hands-on experience with table spaces, indexes, partitions, and query performance tuning,
- Creation, migration, maintenance and administration of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases in different environments (Production, Pre-Production),
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager,
- Docker Management,
- Experience with Liquidbase,
- Experience in tasks automation,
- Advanced knowledge of information technology necessary for performing work duties (including database skills at the administrator level, having domain of Unix and Windows environments at the user level, networking knowledge).
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with Foglight,
- Experience with Ansible (AWX),
- Knowledge of Java programming language,
- Experience with trading/exchange/risk management software usage,
- Experience with Atlassian software (JIRA, Confluence, FishEye, etc.).
