Mid-Senior Backend Engineer, PHP

Our technology stack is mostly based on PHP, React and AWS. We like acronyms such as TDD, BDD and DDD. We employ more than 70 engineers, spread across various Squads of 5-8 people, with a structure inspired by the Spotify Model.

We are looking for a Mid/Senior PHP Engineer to join our eFront team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PHP development, as well as a strong understanding of web development best practices. They will be responsible for working closely with fellow developers, as well as our product and design teams to ensure that our applications are both functional and user-friendly.

Responsibilities

  • Work together with fellow backend, frontend, devops and QA engineers, as well as product managers and designers. We use PHP, AWS, Github and Docker in our everyday life and our frontend is VueJS-based.
  • Mentor fellow developers and participate in decision making.
  • Transform User Stories to actual backend code and API endpoints.
  • Refactor code using modern PHP practices and tools.
  • Perform rigorous code reviews and receive likewise.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in PHP development, 8.0+ is a plus
  • Strong understanding of web development and database best practices.
  • Experience with Unit testing-TDD is a plus
  • Experience with designing and consuming modern APIs.
  • Eager to collaborate within structured teams and willing to practice pair programming.
  • Experience working on high-volume/high-traffic web applications.

Equally important, you are a kind, dedicated and helpful person and you appreciate working with people that share the same qualities. You also have a degree in software engineering, or can justify why you don’t need one.
