Are you a budding technologist passionate about building the backbone of modern software systems? We're looking for a Mid-Level Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is perfect for someone eager to apply their programming knowledge to the world of scalable, resilient infrastructure and make a real impact on restaurants. You'll work alongside an experienced crew building the latest and greatest tools and infrastructure for our partner teams across SpotOn. Supporting a wide array of products and tech stacks you'll need to learn quickly, communicate clearly, and apply everything alongside your team.

As part of our platform engineering squad, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with seasoned engineers to design and implement robust, highly available systems in AWS and or other public cloud platforms.
  • Work on actual production systems, gaining invaluable experience in maintaining and optimizing critical infrastructure.
  • Explore the exciting realm of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automating and streamlining our deployment processes.
  • Deepen your understanding of distributed systems concepts and see how they apply in a real-world setting.

Responsibilities: 

Infrastructure Development and Automation

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts and templates.
  • Write efficient code to automate infrastructure component deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Develop modular, reusable components for infrastructure management
  • Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for infrastructure
  • Learn and apply AWS best practices for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost optimization
  •  Utilize coding skills (e.g., Python, Go) to create custom scripts and tools for complex infrastructure challenges.

  • Knowledge of software development fundamentals , problem solving and algorithmic thinking
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, C++)
  • Understanding of distributed systems concepts (e.g., CAP Theorem)
  • Basic understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts
  • Ability to work with production-grade systems
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Working experience with AWS or other public cloud provider
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with production-grade systems in a cloud environment

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with credit card processing
  • Android / Kotlin experience
  • Experience leveraging GitHub Actions for deployments
  • Experience working with Terraform
  • Restaurant experience (server, host, cook…it helps to know the folks our software supports!)

Compensation:

  • Our base pay range is $85,000 -$138,000 for this role
  • Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
  • Offers will be reflective of the candidate’s location and experience.

The base salary range listed will vary depending on location and experience.

$145,000$190,000 USD
