Planet Technologies, the Nation's leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as a Microsoft Power Platform (MPP) SME. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.
The candidate will be proficient across the suite of MPP tools and in particular with MPP governance to join the team of professionals for our federal government client. For this federal client, we are responsible for helping to guide the agency’s adoption of the MPP and assist with the creation and implementation of associated governance standards and policies.
Responsibilities
- Identify key stakeholders and establish a governance team
- Develop strategies, policies and guidelines for Power Platform environments (including, but not limited to, providing guidance on provisioning new environments on an as-needed basis), Dataverse, Connectors, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Citizen Developers and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
- Restrict default environment to personal productivity use
- Determine premium licensing needs, and define user roles and map to appropriate premium licensing needs based on requirements
- Support Power Platform team on pipeline implementation
- Review existing Centre of Excellence (CoE) configuration and support Power Platform team on quarterly CoE administrative updates
- Update CoE to support Citizen Developers and grant them access to CoE resources like Developer Compliance Center to ensure they follow best practices
- Identify areas to be audited, configure auditing requirements, define retention policies
- Set up Communication Hub SharePoint site and load the site with documentation on procedures, governance policies, environment strategies, best practices, training materials (including links to videos), ALM processes etc.
- Monitor CoE dashboards, Power Platform environment capacity and health, license usage, audited areas, retention policies, DLP policies, Communication Hub site for latest contents
- Meet with stakeholders to understand their requirements and the technical environment
- Provide technical guidance on the MS Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, Power Pages, Dataverse) in the areas of Governance as well as Architecture, Engineering, Security, ALM and Administration
- Provide guidance and assist with designing/implementation of Platform Governance Automation of the MPP/Office 365 environment
- Work closely with federal solution architects on governance of the MPP/Office 365 environments
