Position Overview
Hadrian is seeking a Metrology / Precision Inspection Training Specialist dedicated to fostering the growth and expertise of our Quality Assurance department. This pivotal role combines deep technical knowledge in inspection methodologies with a zeal for education, aiming to enhance the skills of in-house technicians. The ideal candidate will possess the adaptability to tailor teaching methods to a diverse range of learners, ensuring that complex concepts in metrology and precision inspection are made accessible and comprehensible.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development:
- Design comprehensive training plans and evaluation procedures covering advanced precision equipment operation, metrology best practices, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Curriculums must be robust yet approachable, tailored to upskill our internal technicians.
- Training Execution:
- Implement the training curriculum, taking full responsibility for the professional development of individual trainees. Regularly report on the progress of learners to Hadrian leadership, adjusting teaching strategies and materials to suit diverse learning styles. Innovate teaching methods to demystify complex inspection concepts.
- On-the-Job Mentorship:
- Provide ongoing mentorship to technicians post-graduation, monitoring their performance and integration into the Quality Assurance department. Act as a pillar of continuous learning within the organization, collaborating with leadership to establish a fair and comprehensive skills matrix.
- Train the Trainer:
- Develop train-the-trainer programs enabling technicians to effectively impart knowledge amongst themselves, focusing on maximizing efficiency and fostering a scalable learning environment.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a precision inspection role within the aerospace machining environment.
- Mastery in precision inspection techniques and the operation of related equipment.
- A thorough understanding of GD&T, especially its application within a Quality Assurance context.
- A proven track record of teaching and knowledge sharing, evidenced by successful student outcomes.
- A genuine passion for education and the empowerment of others through shared knowledge.
