Merchandising Associate

This is a hybrid position located in our Boston office. M-Th are in office and Fridays are remote.

Do you think about the product content that fuels those shopping experiences and how you could optimize it to improve the overall experience? If you can use data, creativity and attention to detail to figure out how to make a great ecommerce site even better, then we want to talk to you. 

Wayfair is looking for a Merchandising Associate to deliver a superior global ecommerce experience for both our customers shopping, and suppliers who sell their products on our platforms. In this role you will own a specific area  within our huge product catalog and be responsible for its success, including how products are added and merchandised on site, and the structures and data that power our supplier and customer-facing features, using a combination of consumer analytics, digital strategy, and program management. You’ll become the subject matter expert in the merchandise that we sell, how our customers shop for it, and how we work with our suppliers. You’ll constantly be evaluating and optimizing the front-end shopping experience at Wayfair, and the data structures that power them, and will serve as a crucial cross-functional partner to multiple teams, working together to develop and implement strategic improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Support merchandising and performance in a given area of our product catalog
  • Challenge the status quo and always be on the lookout for ways to streamline and improve the efficiency of existing processes while effectively managing multiple stakeholders
  • Track the results of past actions, report out effectively and make decisions based on learning and data
  • Analyze site metrics and related data to identify opportunities to improve conversion rate and drive revenue growth across product categories
  • Research trends, opportunities and competitors to discover new ways to improve customer experience within product categories

What You'll Need

  • 1+ years of relevant work, internship or school experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) earned by date of hire
  • Proactive and eager to constantly seek out opportunities to make an impact
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and has an ownership mentality
  • Analytical and process-oriented, comfortable learning new data analysis tools
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize projects and multitask to get things done
  • Detail oriented; unafraid of complexity and problem solving; curious mindset
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to navigate structured and unstructured data and problems

Product Merch

Can you imagine purchasing a new dining table online, sight unseen, without accurate dimensional information? What about a rug without understanding its material construction? Or either of these without an image available online? …the answer is no, especially if you want to find exactly the right product that meets your unique needs!This is the information that Product Merchandising deeply understands and determines using our own class and catalog expertise. We source content from our suppliers, and we create content (e.g., media) ourselves, internally with partners like creative and data science. We make sure that information is conveyed correctly to our customers on site / app, validated by research, at relevant points throughout the customer shopping journey, via standards and logic, to ensure customers can purchase with confidence.

Merchandising Product Addition (Associate)

Wayfair’s Global Product Addition (PA) team operates like a digital factory and is responsible for intaking supplier product data at scale and ensuring thousands of new products per day can launch on site with excellent merchandising. This role will include owning the Custom / Complex SKU creation process helping internal and external partners add strategic assortment to the site and navigating the Wayfair merchandising ecosystem (tools, standards and systems). As a process owner you will be responsible for leveraging data to identify process improvements, implementing new solutions and measuring efficiency and impacts. This will include managing and coaching offshore process teams, working closely with cross functional partners, collaborating with stakeholders and understanding supplier objectives and nuanced product setup needs.

Samples Platform (Associate)

The Samples Platform associate is responsible for facilitating and managing the digital and orderable sample experience on Wayfair.com & its brands, a table stakes offering across the furniture and home improvement industry. This role will be responsible for creatively improving digital swatch and orderable sample coverage in partnership with our internal and external stakeholders. You’ll manage the day to day platform operations, use data to monitor performance metrics and identify coverage opportunities, proactively identify and implement process or platform improvements, and facilitate new sample offerings to drive Wayfair’s merchandising strategy.
