A day in the life…
Serves as the Representative for the Revenue Cycle Management Department as a resource in medical billing. Facilitates insurance billing and maintains positive working relationships across roles and departments to facilitate issue resolution. Clear understanding of healthcare insurance collections and denials. Possesses the ability to handle the resubmission, reposting, and transferring of charges to resolve accounts in a time efficient process.
- Maintains ongoing que of denied claims review and response. Follows through on responses to resolve avoidable denials.
- Research pended insurance claims at day 60 without a payment or denial. Researches and analyzes accounts that are over 180+ days for one touch resolution.
- Works a variety of reports weekly and monthly.
- Place calls to insurance companies, patients, and third-party vendors for various reasons.
- Serves as a resource for clinics for eligibility inquiries.

Assist in identifying and resolving issues to assure high quality, efficient, and cost-effective services consistent with the needs of the organization.
Education
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a medical office or billing environment with medical billing and collections required.

Working knowledge of medical terminology required.
Qualifications

Ability to analyze and interpret financial data including explanation of benefits from all payers.

Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

Ability to read and write legibly and understand/follow written and verbal directions.

Must be able to operate computer and have necessary keyboarding skills to function in assigned Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

A positive and team-oriented attitude

Must possess organizational and self-motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.

Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
