Position Summary
The Medical Coordinator is responsible for providing and maintaining quality medical care, through technical and administrative management activities. Coordinates and supervises all processes carried out by location nurses, propose and/or improve medical standard of care for employees. Provides support to the Safety Coordinator with respect to industrial safety and the company´s compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop and keep updated procedures, instructions, and work documents in the medical service, as well as establish care protocols and internal regulations.
· Organize and coordinate first aid consultation and care services, ensuring that they are provided with efficiency and quality.
· Responsible for initiating the incident investigation procedure.
· Report and prepare reports that are required on the activities of the medical service.
· Review the attendance of nurses during their shifts and overtime when required.
· Facilitate logistical support for the request of new medication, healing materials and other medical supplies at the time required, as well as ensuring the correct use of resources.
· Support new hiring in carrying out medical examinations, as well as supervise the correct generation of clinical records.
· Schedule periodic examinations for company personnel who have been at least one year in the company, according to the risks represented by each area; after environmental and ergonomic studies.
· Verify the examinations for risk activities are being carried out correctly.
· Preparation of reports and filing of personnel medical records, as well as communicating when workers absences due to medical reasons and must be justified.
· Plan and develop health campaigns, as well as preventive and curative medicine programs.
· Develop health talks and support in the creation of monthly safety talks for staff.
· Evaluate the correct recording of work incidents, as well as the correct filling out of the statement of facts.
· Attend work accidents, fill out forms and participate in investigations.
· Provide consultation, grant prescriptions, and recommend internal disabilities when necessary.
· Refer workers to specialists when the case warrants it.
· Keep daily control of consultations and statistical recording of the diseases that occur the most.
· Provide support to the Safety Coordinator in audits/tours together with the Safety and Hygiene Commission.
· Attend meetings established by the company, when required.
· Participate in on boarding and/or training tasks for new staff.
