Mechanical Welder Foreman

Job Summary

  • Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant mechanical equipment and systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure Loesche mill welding repair tasks as per recommendation.
  • Maintain discipline among the welding team work
  • Ensure availability of welding machines and tools around the plant
  • Ensure proper utilization and storage of welding equipment and tools along the plant.
  • Ensure availability of all welding machines and tools (equipment) check lists
  • Participate on the elaboration of your major and critical welding jobs procedures, SOP, as well as job JSA and permits
  • Ensure daily feedback from your welders
  • Participate on the spare parts availability monitoring through timely and specifically identification of the need and PR raise and follow up till the reception of the requested spare parts.
  • Ensure Efficient management of provided tools at your section
  • Improve man power management to ensure continuity of the process.
  • Participate on the Preparation of your section maintenance plans
  • Maintain maintenance activities history and daily reports as documented information
  • Reduce maintenance cost (proactive maintenance, spare, time, man power management, etc.)
  • Promote innovation among the welding team
  • Maintain timely communication with the management through your direct line manager, also liaise with other department to meet the target.
  • Develop staff through training and coaching sessions program
  • Participate on the Preparation of man power monthly work schedule
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements (works permits )
  • Liaise with suppliers to provide accurate technical required information need for the spare parts.
  • Perform any other task entrusted to him by the hierarchy.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

Higher National Diploma (HND) or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in repairs and maintenance of cement manufacturing equipment.

Skills and Competencies

In-depth knowledge of cement plant maintenance and cement manufacturing process.

Excellent communication skills.

Good data gathering and analysis skills.

Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.

Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.

Proficiency in the use of MS Office
