Your Role
You will be responsible for testing KOKO’s Bioethanol based cookstove and canister. Your role includes design and supervising execution of tests for our cooker, canister and its components. The testing will be distributed across KOKO’s Product Test Lab at Gandhinagar, Nairobi and third party labs. You will work closely with KOKO’s Design engineering team and product team for defining test protocols and developing the right type of test hardware/equipment and environment.
What You Will Do
- Understand product and use, environment and typical operating conditions.
- Designing tests and their detailed test protocols/procedures.
- Design formats for data collection and test reports.
- Design source test rigs and equipment required to carry out tests.
- Independently conduct experiments and analyze data.
- Provide technical support to the team of test engineers and technicians during the tests.
- Provide test reports and recommendations for designers, engineers and product team.
- Maintain and upgrade KOKO’s in house test lab.
- Troubleshoot test equipment and processes to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Continuously improve test methods and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in mechanical testing.
What You Will Bring to KOKO
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) as a Mechanical Test Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
- Proficiency in mechanical testing techniques and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with testing equipment such as universal testing machines, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret test data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detailed knowledge of statistical tools.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ISO) is a plus.
- Experience with CAD software (e.gSolidWorks) is desirable.
- Knowledge of ANSYS/COMSOL is preferable.
