As a Mechanical Engineering Coordinator at The Boring Company, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the documentation and coordination efforts for various mechanical engineering projects. You will assist in organizing and maintaining documentation in the form of spreadsheets, drawings, and reports, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration within the engineering team. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of project tasks and adherence to project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanical engineers in organizing and maintaining project documentation, including spreadsheets, drawings, reports and CAD models/drawings.
  • Coordinate with engineering team members to gather and compile technical data for documentation purposes (e.g. data acquired from vendors, 3D models of purchased parts, …)
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation, verifying technical details and specifications.
  • Assist in the creation and revision of engineering drawings and models using CAD software.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in documentation practices.
  • Monitor project schedules and assist in identifying and addressing potential delays or bottlenecks.
  • Provide administrative support to the engineering team as needed, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing project files.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Office Suite, particularly Google Sheets for spreadsheet management.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks) for basic drawing tasks.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with document control systems and practices.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels.
