Position Summary: This position is responsible for working with the Applications Engineering team to provide Third Wave System’s (TWS) solutions to metal cutting processes, working with customers, globally, to enable machining process and quality improvements, and deliver software systems support and training. This position may work cross functionally with internal Product Management, Development, and Product Quality teams to translate product needs, requests, and problems to internal requirements, provide technical assistance to the sales team, and provide feedback on product capabilities and new features. In this role, the projects and support provided will directly attribute to the success of the business.

 

Major Job Accountabilities:

  • Perform finite element analysis and formulation work, utilizing CAD/CAM technologies.
  • Use mathematical models to develop computer simulations of machining processes.
  • Conduct experiments to study the effects of tooling geometry, workpiece material, and process conditions in metal removal/machining operations.
  • Support the Applications Engineering team with internal and external customer projects and R&D activities.
  • Apply CAE tools to metal cutting processes to develop material for training, marketing, and sales.
  • Contribute to process improvement/integrity, report generation, and software systems support and training.
  • Assist TWS software Product Owners to identify requirements for new technology development.

Requirements

(Required) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and adapt to different situations.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate or undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • At least six months of engineering experience (industrial or academic) involving machining processes, CNC programming, or machine tool operation.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing CAE and CAD/CAM tools is a plus.
  • Experience with automated testing is a plus.
  • Experience running CNC milling or lathe machines is a plus.

Hourly Wage

  • $19-$23 per hour

Preference will be given to local candidates
