As an intern at Merlin you will work closely with a mentor and other full time engineers to help develop the world’s most capable pilot.
This role is based onsite at our Boston headquarters.
Mechanical Engineers at Merlin are involved with the following:
- Design, analysis, and testing of aircraft control systems/components
- Integration of avionics systems into lab benches
- Participate in testing activities including: developing test plans, designing fixtures, results analysis, and reports
- Preparation of mechanical drawings for fabrication and integration
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Catia, OnShape, Fusion, or CreoExposure to design projects, including taking concepts through prototyping, testing, or analysis (class projects, personal projects, or internships welcome!)
- Interest or coursework in areas such as mechanism design, controls design, environmental analysis (thermal, vibration, airflow), or structural analysis
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills developed through academic or extracurricular activities
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with a willingness to learn and grow in a professional setting
- A passion for autonomy and innovation in the aerospace and aviation industries.
