We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and document modifications and upgrades to our existing pilot facility in Finland. You will be designing various equipment, pressure piping, and steel structures, ensuring they meet our testing requirements and comply with relevant standards. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring our vision to life.
Key responsibilities
- Design modifications to existing pilot plant equipment based on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Perform sizing, modeling, and drafting of industrial equipment such as tanks, vessels, conveyors, agitators, etc.
- Ensure designs adhere to relevant pressure vessel design codes (PED and ASME BPVC) and other applicable standards.
- Develop detailed drawings and documentation for manufacturing and construction.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in the pilot facility design.
Ideal candidate:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on process industry equipment design.
- Proven experience in sizing, modeling, and drafting industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of piping engineering and steel structure design principles.
- Familiarity with Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant design software.
- Experience with plant scale engineering and Product Lifecycle Management/Plant documentation systems a plus.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
