Mechanical Engineer - Apapa Terminal.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring the efficient operation, while prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize terminal performance.

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues
  • Ensure smooth operation of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and condition monitoring.
  • Source spare parts and materials
  • Plan and execute repairs, overhauls and replacement of mechanical equipment
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance
  • Ensuring quality standards for maintenance and repair
  • Assist in planning and executing of mechanical related projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors
  • Supervise and train mechanical technicians and assistants
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress
  • Maintain good records of maintenance repairs and inspections
  • Give explicit report on equipment performance and downtime

Requirements

  • B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • High sense of focus to stick with operations objectives and goals.

  • Strong skills in time management, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Good crises management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of given instructions and accepted standard practices.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions in consistency with company policies
  • Ability to maintain punctual attendance, regularly.
  • Ability to work for minimum twelve hours daily.
