Mechanical Engineer - 机械工程师

Your mission will be to improve the mechanical design, design-to-cost and design for manufacturing of the company products. You will troubleshoot and find solutions to the component manufacturing, product assembly and supplier quality issues that may arise with the industrialization of innovative hardware products. You will join a pluridisciplinary team composed of Mechanical, Production and Biochemistry engineers and co-work on a regular basis with the mechanical design team based in Paris.

Job duties

  • Understand, analyze and improve the mechanical design of our products in coordination with the Product Development Team in Paris.
  • Design components, packaging, accessories and/or products using CAD, DFM, GD&T and product management tools.
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers and communicate clearly with the team. Be the interface between suppliers and the product development team in France. 
  • Anticipate, manage and solve manufacturing, assembly and quality problems happening on the production lines and component manufacturers.
  • Help setup and ramp-up the production lines during the NPI stages of the product development cycle in cooperation with our contract manufacturers.
  • Analyze data from the production lines, optimize mass production efficiency and cost.
  • Design production lines jigs and tools to help with product assembly, testing and validation.

Requirements

  • You graduated with a bachelor BSc or master MSc in Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 
  • Ideally, you have experience with consumer electronics and/or packaging mechanical design, assembly and validation.
  • Ideally, you have experience in manufacturing processes and plastic injection.
  • Experience with CAD (Onshape, Solidworks, …) and Office Pack (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, …)
  • You are a passionate individual with strong problem solving skills and an autonomous mindset.
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken) is required.
  • Fluency in Chinese Mandarin is a strong plus. Fluency in French is a plus.

Location

The position is based in the Withings office in Shenzhen Nanshan area in Guangdong province. Frequent travels within China (Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hunan provinces and Hong Kong) are to be expected. International trips to France may occur.
