The Mechanical Designer works with Fluid Power Systems Group members to help bring them to a higher level in design and is also responsible for the FPSG Cad drawings. In this role, you'll create Layout and Schematic Drawings from supplied documents submitted by Account Managers at the time of quote and make sure all critical notes are included on the drawings (dimensions, system pressures, paint, and tubing size, etc.). The Design Specialist also updates final documentation of all systems before shipment and coordinates project closure.
What You'll Do
- Create Schematic Drawings (Hydraulic / Electrical)
- Build and Detail Fabrication / Mechanical drawings for Quotation and Manufacturing
- Revise and maintain drawings when changes are made internally and externally
- Assist in creating layout drawings and details for build
- Inspect and review all incoming custom fabrications

What We Need from You
- 1-2 years’ experience in drafting/detailing schematic drawings or equivalent education
- Fluid Power Certification desired, but not required
- Mechanical design experience including understanding of metallurgy, welding, machining, and fabrication processes is desired
- Experience with designing software such as AutoCad and/or Solidworks is required
- Ability to develop creative cost-effective solutions to meet customers’ needs
- Organize and execute multiple projects concurrently and utilize and manage outside resources to aid in completion of timely quotations
- Excellent communication technical writing and presentation skills
