Who You’ll Work With
As an Arista Mechanical Design Verification Test Engineer, you will engage with Product Teams, Mechanical / Product Design, Test Labs, CM Partners, and other business functions. You will get an opportunity to work with some of the smartest engineering and technical leaders in the industry.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in product teams of engineers involved in specification, design, scheduling, and test of hardware
- Develop and implement test plans using statistical principles as well as Arista’s corporate MDVT specification
- Support the development of new products by executing mechanical characterization and qualification tests
- Perform hands-on testing of Arista Datacenter products using various networking, mechanical and environmental test equipment e.g. Ixia, Smartbits, Shock & Vibration table, Acoustic, HALT and other environmental test chambers, etc.
- Ability to lift about 30-40 lbs product during testing
- Analyze test results, identify issues, and recommend corrective action
- Review, edit, and release test reports for the products you’ve tested Evaluate technical readiness prior to release to manufacturing
- Interface/engage with Hardware & Mechanical Engineering, External Labs, and Marketing (as needed)
- Develop and improve mechanical test processes and actively enhance efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and internal customer satisfaction
- 2-4+ years of experience in Mechanical Design and/or Test Engineering
- Solid understanding of related industry standards e.g. ETSI, IEC, MIL810, etc.
- Capable of performing first order thermal and structural analysis and characterization tests
- Capable of creating a test plan and test schedule
- Working knowledge in networking products related to switching and data centers
- BS or MS Mechanical Engineering
- Familiar with Pro-Engineer and design of experiments is plus
This is a one year contract to hire role, with hourly pay range $55 to $90 per hour. The actual pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and US location.
