ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of various equipment, including but not limited to macadamia nut, food processing, and husking machinery/equipment.
- Responsible for general facilities repairs as instructed by the manager.
- Examines form and condition of parts to detect defective or worn parts; repairs and replaces defective parts.
- Refers to drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals to install and maintain company equipment.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using basic mechanical, power, or hand tools, and other measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoots and locates sources of problems by observing machinery in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Follows PM program and maintains machinery and equipment by lubricating and cleaning parts as recommended by the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Services, repairs, calibrates, aligns pneumatic, electronic, mechanical instrumentation and control systems, scales, etc.
- Locates and installs sensing, controlling, indicating, recording, etc. devices and equipment and interconnecting wiring, tubing, piping, conduit, cables, etc.
- Identifies and submits requests for needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests.
- Follows all company safety standards and procedures.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules/shifts and overtime as needed.
- Regular attendance is required for the position.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Requires little to no supervision and is able to independently, through skill and experience, solve most problems related to work.
- Completes work in substantially less than average time for the respective trade and applies procedures and knowledge well.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years related experience.
- Two (2) years trade school or higher education and specialized training/certificates preferred.
- Must have experience in welding/fabrication.
- Must be able to operate a boom and scissor lift.
- Must have a certificate for forklift and manlift operator.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must provide own hand tools.
- Electrical skills 110/460 a plus.
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s license required.
