Altarum’s Community Health Practice Area is seeking a Maternal Child Health/Early Childhood Technical Assistance Specialist to support multiple projects aimed at improving the health of women, children, and adolescents. This position is remote and will largely focus on early childhood system-building efforts but may also work on other projects related to maternal and child health. Work may include providing training and technical assistance, developing written products, facilitating online and face-to-face meetings and webinars, facilitating partner and grantee engagement, developing reports, and working with cross-agency teams to support early childhood system-building and maternal and child health programs at the state level. 
 
You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of early childhood service systems and maternal and child health to generate insights that inform equitable public health and health services solutions. Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and provide training and technical assistance in the implementation of maternal and child health and state level early childhood systems.  
  • Plan and develop activities and products to support early childhood system-building in states and support community-hospital network building 
  • Facilitate small and large group meetings, trainings, and webinars 
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with external partners in the MCH field.  Identify partnerships and promote relationship‐building 
  • Work within program timelines and effectively manage competing priorities to support timely completion of program deliverables 
  • Work effectively in a team environment 
  • Manage tasks, budgets, and deliverables 
  • Balance the needs of multiple simultaneous projects with competing deadlines 
  • Demonstrate initiative in problem solving and innovative solution development 
  • Liaise and coordinate with a range of clients and project partners 
  • Self-manage time and resources effectively 
  • Follow all applicable privacy and confidentiality procedures in daily work 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health or related field preferred, with at least 3-5 years of experience working in early childhood, MCH or complementary field. 
  • At least one yearof experience providing tailored technical assistance, facilitating collaborative processes, and developing action-oriented resources to support effective delivery of early childhood or maternal and child health focused programs. Experience with state systems building strongly preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Exceptional attention to quality and detail. 
  • An inquisitive and innovative nature, integrity, willingness to take on new roles, team-focused mentality, and a commitment to continuously learning and improving. 
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated skills in independent management of time and tasks. 
  • Experience in virtual and in-person meeting facilitation. 
  • Experience managing projects and task budgets and staffing allocations. 

Logistical Requirements

  • At this time, we will only accept candidates who are presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship.
  • Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract.
