Summary:

As an manager for our Inventory and Logistics teams at our Juarez facility, you will play a mission-critical role, providing leadership to ensure seamless inventory management and logistics processes that support the timely shipment of products to multibillion-dollar enterprise customers. Your extensive experience and judgment will allow you to build trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, especially in the context of cross-border operations between the US and Mexico. A high degree of creativity and latitude is expected as you solve operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.

 

We want you here if you have:

  • Assessed team dynamics and processes in a manufacturing environment, identifying and implementing areas for improvement.  
  • Developed and implemented strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce holding costs, with a particular focus on the movement of goods between the US and Mexico.  
  • Coordinated procurement logistics operations, ensuring materials are transported in a timely and cost-effective manner, specifically across borders.  
  • A self-starter mentality with the ability to coordinate project deliverables and schedules while using standard tools.  
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.  
  • Identified and implemented process improvements to enhance efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume factory setting.  
  • A passion for collaboration and continuous improvement in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.  

What you will achieve:

 

Within 30 days 

  • You will thoroughly understand our processes, ERP system, and the cross-border inventory flow, and begin to form recommendations for improvements.  
  • You will have met the team and key stakeholders, both in Juarez and across the border, and begun active communication and delegation of tasks.
  • Begin managing to KPIs around ERP transactions and accurate inventory management
  • Develop a full understanding of the work and capabilities of your direct reports, including the unique needs of the Juarez factory and multiple shifts
  • Manage the on time delivery of all customer orders

Within 60 days  

  • Define or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory, kitting, and logistics, with a specific focus on cross-border material transfers.  
  • Establish performance management and development plans for your team, ensuring cross-training for essential roles.  
  • Complete a full wall-to-wall inventory count, make necessary adjustments in the ERP, and set inventory management strategies, especially for high-volume items like PCBA inventory.  

By 90 days 

  • Implement a strategy for PCBA inventory movement and management, ensuring smooth operations between Juarez and Asia.  
  • Assess the team's structure and recommend necessary changes or external training programs.  
  • Create and implement a process for managing engineering materials, including the movement and ordering of essential parts.

 

Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy and material availability to support volume production, minimizing delays and ensuring efficient production flows.
  • Oversee the logistics operations, including the inbound and outbound movement of materials, ensuring on-time delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with international shipping and trade regulations.
  • Lead and manage the inventory and logistics team, providing clear direction, effective task delegation, and performance management to ensure the team meets key operational goals.
  • Collaborate with production planning and manufacturing teams to align inventory management with production schedules, ensuring that materials are always available to meet high-volume production demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across inventory and logistics processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support factory-wide goals.
  • Monitor and report on key inventory and logistics metrics (such as inventory turns, stock levels, and shipping costs) to senior management, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and logistics partners, negotiating contracts and monitoring service performance to ensure that factory production goals are met consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, customs requirements, and other relevant standards for inventory management and logistics in a factory setting.
  • Provide on-the-ground leadership at the factory, ensuring alignment between logistics and production teams, as well as timely and accurate ERP system transactions for volume production.

 

Experiences that will increase your chances of success:

  • Experience managing inventory in the manufacturing sector, specifically with cross-border logistics and compliance with international trade regulations.  
  • Expert level experience with Mexican customs and international shipping procedures.  
  • Project management certification or experience in a high-volume production environment.
