Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining material flow in coordination with production schedules. Is key in ensuring our production lines are continuously running with minimal downtime. This position will report directly to the Production Planner

Data Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment, with knowledge of all areas of operations (including inventory, production, and distribution)
  • Proficient with MS Office and ERP systems (Blackline is currently using NetSuite)
  • Experience operating in a material handling role in a Lean Manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Repetitive lifting and carrying of up to 30lbs.
  • Manual handling of incoming and outgoing product
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Operating hand tools, dollies, and lift tables
  • Wearing PPE as required

Responsibilities:

  • Pick material kits and deliver to production floor
  • Return materials from completed jobs back to warehouse inventory locations
  • Receive, inspect, and put away inbound materials. Work with Procurement team to rectify discrepancies
  • Ensure proper inventory levels are kept on production floor
  • Replenish Kanban bins for production lines, including assembly, through hole, and potting
  • Work with Supply Chain team to identify upcoming shortages of Kanban/consumable items (packaging, hardware, etc.)
  • Perform cycle counts as per ABC classification
  • Identify and implement proper bin sizing for inventory items
  • Ensure accuracy of part usage and dropout by continually updating, investigating discrepancies, and correcting errors.
  • Perform Inventory analysis and recommend targets for reduction efforts and inventory turn optimization.
  • Assist in development of standards, policies and work instructions for inventory

Safety Footwear:

Candidates are required to wear certified ASTM standards to prevent injury from specific hazards. At minimum, safety footwear in Blackline US Facilities must be 1/75 and C30 unless otherwise specified. Applicants must have access to a pair of the right safety footwear prior to starting employment.
