How We Build Software:

We build software by structuring solutions in a product-centric manner and focusing on continuously delivering improvements from a backlog of features. These features are taken from real stakeholder needs linked to clear objectives. As a result, our digital platforms are a mixture of custom components and external services which produce a powerful and engaging experience when combined.


Propellerhead operates a hybrid working model (work from our office and/or from your own home). We welcome applications from Developers located throughout New Zealand, and from Developers located internationally who are interested in moving to New Zealand. (Please note: if working remotely, you will be required to work across NZ work-day hours.)


The Role

A great opportunity has opened up at Propellerhead for a  focused and driven individual to drive our Marketing & Recruitment Strategy.

As Marketing & Recruitment Strategist, you’ll work to develop content to best showcase Propellerhead for both potential customers and team members. You’ll facilitate communications activities, liaising with internal team members and external contractors such as public relations companies and designers. You’ll also work closely with our team to find software professionals from New Zealand and around the world.

You’ll have an interest in technology and a natural love for storytelling, along with an eye for spotting opportunities. You’ll feel comfortable problem solving, and working with a variety of people to get things done.

We’re working a hybrid model from home + office, and you’ll have access to plenty of office perks such as beautiful offices in Auckland’s CBD, new Apple laptops and other technology, lots of snacks and a cafe-quality Italian coffee machine. We also host regular events and celebrations.  This role is Auckland based with office attendance required in line with our team collaboration days.

There will also be an opportunity to support a new technology company we’re building, and Sandra Kaminski, an established author and stylist.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping to source suitable employees, contractors and remote teams to fill roles based on the organisation's current and forecast needs
  • Build relationships with other team members throughout the organisation
  • Driving the strategy and coordination of marketing and recruitment activities under the Propellerhead umbrella
  • Developing and maintaining the organisations websites and website content
  • Curating content for stories, press releases, events, videos and testimonials, coordinating the development of blog posts, press releases and videos, and publishing content to appropriate online and internal channels, to attract both potential clients and employees

Skills/experience or attributes of a successful candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in marketing or a similar role
  • The ability to work undirected, but also be a strong team player with a willingness to assist with wider team tasks as required
  • Great people skills, and enjoy meeting new people
  • Problem solving comes naturally to you and you have an ability to think outside the square
  • An ability to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly
  • Enjoy getting into the details, and capability to share these learnings in a suitable forum
  • A natural interest in new things happening in the marketplace, with your finger on the pulse and the ability to share learnings with the wider team
  • Experience in writing plans, ability to create regular social media posts of interest and generate meaningful work stories
