What will you be doing?
 

Argus produces commercial conferences for the energy and commodities markets. We specialise in agriculture, chemicals, crude oil, energy transition, fertilizers, generation fuels, LPG, metals, oil products. Argus has dedicated conference teams in Houston, London, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Singapore, running a global portfolio of 40+ events.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced events marketer, to work with on our Fertilizer portfolio of events.

 

As the Conference Marketing Manager, you will drive the promotion of a portfolio of large-scale conference and exhibitions and will be integrally involved in the setting of overall strategic direction. Reporting to the Global Head of Conference Marketing, you will have ownership of the marketing campaigns for 6-8 conferences per year and be responsible for all planning, execution and monitoring of this activity. This will include analysis of past campaign performance, web content management, execution of email marketing campaigns, creation of dynamic collateral including digital brochures, infographics and videos, data build strategy, social and paid media activity, marketing partnerships with external associations and publications – in short, multi-channel activity which will drive delegate revenue on your events.

 

You will have experience in conference marketing with the adaptability to hit the ground running. You will need strong analytical skills, a natural inclination for collaboration and teamwork and the drive to push new ideas and deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Contributing to events growth plans and planning marketing campaigns which will deliver these
  • Ownership of the event marketing campaign and associated delegate attendance
  • Planning and executing multi-channel and at times multi-lingual campaigns to drive delegate acquisition and support sponsorship sales acquisition
  • Overseeing the design process for all digital, print and web assets for the marketing campaign
  • Building emails and executing email campaigns
  • Identifying marketing partners, cultivating relationships and agreeing mutually beneficial deals
  • Updating the conference website and continuously optimising page layout and navigation
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and deploy innovative marketing assets to engage the target audience, such as eBooks, infographics, networking guides where required
  • Managing data build projects and ongoing monitoring of data quality and hygiene
  • Continuously tracking and analysing the effectiveness of campaigns and making recommendations to improve campaign performance
  • Utilising social promotion channels and implementing paid media campaign as appropriate
  • Attending your events and assisting with on-site logistics where required

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • Experienced in the ownership, planning and execution of marketing campaigns for B2B conferences
  • Experience in the use of email engines is essential, experience of marketing automation systems is desirable
  • Sophisticated understanding of digital marketing techniques including web navigation, social media, pay per click campaigns and the interlinking of these channels
  • Eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of marketing copy and assets
  • Analytical mindset enabling the testing and measuring of different marketing tools
  • Personality to engage potential partners online and face-to-face
  • Flexibility to adapt your working style to different markets and cultures
  • Open communication style and a commitment to teamwork
