About the team
Do you want to take ownership and drive the success of the Careem brand in Saudi Arabia? We’re looking for a Marketing Director to develop and evolve an impactful marketing strategy to reach customers in Saudi Arabia. This colleague will also oversee execution of day-to-day marketing initiatives in the Kingdom including in-app assets, digital, social, OOH and other channels. This role requires a high level of Saudi market understanding and requires a diverse skill set across areas including brand management, campaign planning, CRM, social media, event and activation planning, strategic and conceptual thinking, content creation, team leadership and relationship management.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with the senior marketing team, product management, communications, and other HQ colleagues to create and manage partnerships that align our goals with those of new and existing partners.
- Lead the thinking and data analysis for sophisticated customer segmentation and then develop content for the corresponding activation and graduation journeys.
- Develop and implement creative and cost-effective marketing activities to acquire new customers to the platform, cross sell existing customers to new services, and increase existing customers usage of services.
- Provide insights to senior management on Saudi cultural trends, changes in the online and offline media landscape and recommendations on how Careem can turn up in an authentic, culturally relevant way.
- Review centrally created content and advise on how it can be adapted to fit the Saudi context.
- Forecast, measure and report results on various projects with countrywide partners, including co-created and/or co-branded content promotions, lead sharing, and/or event partnerships.
- Promote the use of new marketing technologies and tools by keeping up with the latest advancements.
- Help lead engagement in strategic events, including working with vendors, event coordinators, and design teams for onsite collateral.

Additional qualifications include:
- Strong English and Arabic speaking and writing skills. Must speak Arabic fluently and experience in Saudi Arabia is a prerequisite.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using a variety of measurement techniques to assess the impact and efficacy of marketing campaigns.
- Strong strategic marketing planning experience.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to assess and clearly articulate the business case for various kinds of marketing activities.
- Ability to get hands-on in a complex operational environment, manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
- Previous experience building, managing and inspiring high-performing teams of direct reports.
- Demonstrated experience managing production partners and agencies.
- Experience handling marketing budgets and forecasting/reporting results.
- Exceptional creativity with strong attention to details, aesthetics.
- Strong account management and relationship builder, an adept communicator with the ability to liaise with people on all levels.
- Experience in event planning and management, including speaker outreach and vendor relationships is an advantage.
- Ability to develop and articulate highly successful and innovative marketing solutions and communicate a compelling vision.
- Experience working within the technology industry/start-up environment is highly desirable.
