Outdoorsy's team is inspired by a mission to ‘restore our relationship with the outdoors and each other’ by inviting guests to Live Outdoorsy. As we continue to grow and inspire more people to embrace the outdoors, we’re looking for a talented and creative marketing copywriter to join our team.
About the role
As a marketing Copywriter at Outdoorsy, you will play a key role in crafting compelling, on-brand messaging that engages our audience and supports our marketing and brand goals. You’ll write everything from marketing campaigns to product marketing copy, email campaigns to social media posts — helping us tell the story of who we are, what we do, and why the Outdoorsy experience is unique.
In this role you will collaborate closely with the marketing, design, and product teams to create content that connects with our audience, amplifies our brand’s voice, and drives action. This is a full-time role at our Austin headquarters reporting directly to the VP of Brand Marketing and should expect to be in the office at least 3 days per week or as needed.
Responsibilities
- Define the company tone of voice to engage a diverse set of audiences in a way that increases the approachability of the outdoors
- Write compelling copy for a variety of marketing channels, including website landing pages, email campaigns, social media, blog posts, paid ads, product descriptions, and more.
- Craft clear, concise, and engaging messages that align with Outdoorsy’s brand voice, resonating with our diverse audience of adventure seekers, travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, design, product, and brand) to ensure consistent messaging and tone across all platforms and campaigns.
- Translate marketing goals into effective copy that drives engagement, conversions, and brand awareness. Whether the objective is to educate, inspire, or sell, you’ll know how to write for action.
- Maintain and evolve our brand voice through all written content, ensuring it remains fresh, friendly, and aligned with the spirit of adventure that Outdoorsy embodies.
- Optimize copy for SEO and performance across digital channels to drive traffic, improve conversion rates, and enhance customer engagement (with use of AI).
- Proofread and edit copy to ensure it’s error-free, on-brand, and communicates the intended message clearly and effectively.
- Stay current with industry trends and competitor messaging to continuously evolve our content strategy and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
