Over-the-top communication and customer service are core focus areas at Rook Coffee as our marketing team communicates with thousands of customers weekly and over 100 internal teammates daily. 

Our marketing coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining positive, lasting relationships through outstanding written and verbal communications across all internal and external touch points. 

Our marketing coordinator reports to the senior director of brand strategy. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as an internal marketing liaison, communicating key information in advance of product launches, operational changes, etc. and fielding any incoming store team communications.  
  • Social media posting and community management in line with our internal content calendar and marketing objectives [will involve some nights and weekends].
  • Concepting, implementation, and execution of content for our website, in-store communications, social media, email/SMS marketing, merchandise, etc. Experience with photo/video equipment is a plus.
  • Creating and maintaining content marketing calendars, project timelines, checklists, and employee-facing documents.
  • Proactively identify earned media opportunities and pitch press releases, articles, case studies, product pieces, etc. via email, phone, and in-person networking. 
  • Assisting in outreach, fulfillment and management of influencer programs. 
  • Manage vendor relationships, including pricing, availability, negotiation, purchasing, and selling schedules.
  • Assisted in business reporting, including quarterly investor reports and other recurring reports. 
  • Experience in paid digital advertising, including social, search, display, etc. a plus. 
  • Assisting in answering and resolving customer service inquiries objectively and empathically in real-time.
  • Assisting in maintaining and moderating digital review platforms, i.e., web reviews, Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc., responding to 100% of feedback within established timeframes.
  • Assisting in reviewing, approving, and fulfilling donation requests and responses.
  • Maintaining informational databases, including but not limited to franchise requests, wholesale requests, and location requests.

Job Qualifications

  • Reliability, energy and honesty. A positive mental attitude and outlook on life. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to apply written and verbal communications are a must.
  • A strong understanding of the social media landscape, current trends, and how to leverage social media for business.
  • Creative and critical thinking - experience in marketing, branding, copywriting, and content creation is highly desirable.
  • A proactive approach to communications - anticipating future needs and opportunities, and constantly staying ahead of them.
  • Empathy to understand customer and team needs and the written and verbal skills to effectively resolve any issues. Experience in customer service in any capacity is mandatory.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organization. The ability to manage communication streams and projects across multiple platforms and timelines.
  • Commitment ​and ability to work and communicate as a team. Confidence and skill to work autonomously in a fast paced, dynamic business environment. Must maintain a comfortable and fair work environment.
