Our Business Advisory Services team is looking for a Māori Sector Manager to join them in Rotorua.
 
About this team:
Deloitte has both a deep knowledge of the Māori economic entities and a breadth of experience applying that knowledge in practice. Our approach combines insight and innovation from multiple disciplines with business and industry knowledge to help our clients excel. We utilise this knowledge and experience by simplifying complex problems for clients and enhancing their visibility for making informed strategic decisions. In Rotorua our Hourua Pae Rau team is dedicated to partnering with Māori Iwi, Māori Trusts, government and businesses wishing to align their work with and for the benefit of Māori. Hourua Pae Rau represents the largest Māori professional services team in Aotearoa and work with over 300 Māori Trusts and Iwi entities.
 
Your typical day will include:
·         Being a role model and mentor for our Accountants by providing on-the-job training and development opportunities, influencing the team positively.
·         Managing multiple jobs concurrently.
·         Regular communication with clients and teams to ensure the smooth running of jobs.
·         Reviewing financial statements and tax returns prepared by junior staff members.
·         Reviewing management accounts.
·         Building trusted and credible client relationships.
·         Identifying and providing insightful recommendations about a broad range of accounting issues in a timely manner.
 
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:
·         5+ years accounting experience.
·         CA qualified (or equivalent).
·         Solid understanding of the accounting and tax issues facing Māori entities in NZ.
·         Experience in financial modelling and forecasting would be beneficial.
·         Experience in FC or CFO roles is preferred but not essential.
·         Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients & colleagues.
·         Excellent organisational and communication skills.
·         An energetic and proactive attitude.
·         Experience leading successful teams, mentoring junior staff, managing priorities, and delivering to deadlines.
