Job Summary
The primary purpose of the MFGE Technician is to leverage technical expertise and hands-on engineering and manufacturing experience towards 1) the development of processes and improvements for new products and 2) the sustainment and improvement of existing products.
Level 2 is an intermediate level of MFGE status within Trust Automation, with increasing accountability and ability to operate independently. In comparison to Level 1, there is less direct supervision under the MFGE Manager, and more time assigned towards direct collaboration within IPTs (Integrated Product Teams) and higher level stakeholders within Operations and Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities

The duties listed below apply to two different functional disciplines: mechanical and electrical. For the most part, the responsibilities are the same across the two disciplines for this job description, but when the tools and skillsets are different, they will be noted.
- During Prototype and LRIP (Low-Rate, Initial Production) Phases, serve as a technician resource (labor) for Engineering teams and Engineering Program management, as assigned by the MFGE Manager.
- Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies with minimal/no supervision.
- Perform validation of the design and/or the materials used for a product’s assembly and test steps, based on collaboration with ENG and MFGE personnel.
- Assist in the design of, and build, assembly/test fixtures designed by internal and external customers. Develop and sustain preventative maintenance plans and schedules for those fixtures.
- Support the MFGE Manager and other MFGE personnel in devising part and product solutions by performing assembly/disassembly or testing tasks with an eye for improvements and incorporation of lean principles.
- Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues during prototype and LRIP phases and work with MFG to solve production-related assembly or testing problems.
- Serve as a technician backup for Manufacturing during labor shortages.
- Build, test, and document production and test cables based on requirements defined by internal and external customers.
- Train Manufacturing and MFGE personnel on assembly (mechanical) or test (electrical) techniques for specific products and their subassemblies (mechanical assemblies or PCBAs).
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from operators. Offer initial solutions and support the development of improvement plans with MFGE and other departments like Quality and Document Control.
- Apply configuration management principles (e.g. revision control rules) at Trust.
- Perform tasks under ISS tool control: NCR, IRO, CI (Continuous Improvement), Deviation, DCO (Document Change Order).
- Record work performed to allow development of formalized, repeatable, and reliable work and/or test instructions.
- Participate in interdepartmental processes such as Drawing Release, Work Instruction Release, FW Release.
- Create data for ERP/MRP implementation regarding Work Order planning and confer with Configuration Specialists and Planners for accurate Production Lists and part master records.
- Create and/or edit mechanical part and assembly drawings in SolidWorks (mechanical).
- Create and/or edit electrical component and assembly drawings/schematics in Altium or OrCAD (electrical).
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma and 10 years experience in a related manufacturing engineering technician role
- Ability to create electrical schematics and/or mechanical drawings
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and machining/shop equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications
- Experience with Solidworks (mechanical)
- Experience with Altium or OrCAD (electrical)
- Strong component level troubleshooting skills in both Analog and Digital circuits and cabling (electrical)
- Programing skills at hardware level (electrical)
- Knowledge of ATE equipment software & solutions (electrical)
- Professional written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
- Experience with MRP/ERP
- Good arithmetic and logic ability
- Participate in the identity verification process to access classified client portals by authorizing certified supplier management platforms to obtain information from your personal credit profile or other information, solely to verify your identity
- Training Requirement:
- J-STD-001 for soldering workmanship (electrical)
- Work toward understanding the AS9100C standard(s)
Physical Requirements
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone or virtually
- Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, or assemble/manufacture intricate items

Pay/Salary Information Pay scale for this position depending on experience- $27.37- $32.73 Hourly
